Bill Kristol, arguably the most notorious neoconservative has been picked up by the New York Times to do a column three times a week. This guy hasn’t met a war he hasn’t wanted US involvement in. Why this move now, though? He has been completely discredited for his long push for war with Iraq and attempts to tie Saddam Hussein with 9/11. He thinks we are long overdue for a war with Iran. He wants Israel to invade Lebanon. The only think I can come up with is that the Times wants to compete with War Street Journal that is now under the direction of Rupert Murdock. This move by the Times will cause their readership to dwindle some more. They already took a dive after the Judith Miller scandal. I think this is a desperate move that is short-sighted by the Times.
The Times has attempted to defend this hire by claiming Kristol represents conservatives. Ha! The Gray Lady is not able to make a distinction between a conservative and a neoconservative.
